IPL 2023: How Will The IPL Final 2023 Be Impacted By Reserve Day?

The IPL 2023 final game will be played on Sunday, May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad between the defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Due to heavy rainfall in Ahmedabad, the toss was postponed until 7:00 pm (IST).

To the delight of the crowd, the IPL 2023 final game will be held on Monday, May 29.

When a knockout game is postponed or cannot be finished on the scheduled date, a reserve day is used. So that a winner can be determined, the competition is then moved to another day.

It is employed in the IPL when even a five-over match is impractical. The final will be finished on the reserve day if it has begun but cannot be finished on the scheduled date because of bad weather.

It’s important to note that the summit confrontation could begin as late as 9:35 pm (IST). In that scenario, no overs will be lost. The cutoff time for a five-over match between the two champions is reportedly Monday at 12:06 a.M. (IST).

If the weather permits, GT and CSK will play a Super Over if the reserve day is also postponed. Gujarat will be declared the winners if the Super Over cannot begin or be finished because they placed higher in the points standings.

In contrast to Gujarat Titans, who are attempting to win their second straight championship at home, MS Dhoni-led Chennai is going for its fifth championship.
