Mumbai Indians pacer Jason Behrendorff has backed skipper Rohit Sharma to bounce back to form in the 2023 Indian Premier League. He expressed that the veteran batter might just be a couple of good shots away from getting his form back. Rohit Sharma is going through a dismal run in the ongoing season.

In 11 matches so far, the Mumbai Indians skipper has scored 191 runs at an average of 17.36. He only has one fifty to his name this season. Rohit Sharma has managed just 12 runs across his last five innings. He was dismissed for seven runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the recent game, as he was trapped lbw in a controversial manner.

Speaking about Rohit Sharma’s form, Jason Behrendorff said after the match,

“I love the intent Rohit came out with, he sort of stepped down the wicket and took the bowlers on, which was really good to see. He is hitting the ball really well in the nets, but it has not translated often at the moment out in the middle. But, we know how good Rohit is, he is an absolute class player and he might just need a couple of good shots to bounce back to really good form.”

SKY is on a different level: Jason Behrendorff

Mumbai Indians pacer Jason Behrendorff hailed the batting prowess of the team in the 2023 Indian Premier League season. They chased down 200 runs comfortably against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, making the only second instance of a score of 200 or above being chased down at the Wankhede Stadium in the Indian Premier League. Speaking about their batting line-up, Jason Behrendorff said,

“We have got a really long batting lineup, and a couple of guys miss out but when you have got SKY, who is on a different level has been batting amazingly.
Tim David is at the back end, we can see what he can do. Nehal, who has come in across the last few games particularly and taken the game on and played some really important knocks for us, So, we have got great options.”
