Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja pulled off a terrific win in the 2023 Indian Premier League final against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He powered them to their fifth Indian Premier League title and dedicated it to their skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The Chennai Super Kings thumped the defending champions by 5 runs as Ravindra Jadeja slammed a boundary to take them home. They equalled the record for most Indian Premier League title wins. All of their five wins have come under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The wicket-keeper batter was on cloud nine and lifted Ravindra Jadeja in joy to celebrate the win.

Following the championship win, Ravindra Jadeja dedicated it to the Chennai Super Kings skipper. “Feels amazing, winning my fifth title in front of my home crowd. I’m from Gujarat, and it’s a special feeling. This crowd has been amazing. They were waiting for the rain to stop till late at night, I’d like to say a big congratulation to the CSK fans who came to support us. I’d like to dedicate this win to a special member of the CSK side, MS Dhoni,” said Ravindra Jadeja.

I was just looking to swing hard: Ravindra Jadeja

The Chennai Super Kings needed 13 runs off the final over to win the 2023 Indian Premier League title. Mohit Sharma started off the over brilliantly, conceding just three runs off four deliveries. The equation was brought to ten runs off the final two deliveries. Ravindra Jadeja stayed calm under pressure and smacked the first of the two for a six-over long-on. He followed it up with a four past the fine-leg fielder to lead his team to a five-wicket win.

“I was just thinking I need to swing hard, as much as I can. Where the ball will go, I was not thinking about that, just looking to swing hard. I was backing myself and looking to hit straight because I know Mohit can bowl those slower balls,” said Ravindra Jadeja on Mohit Sharma’s final over.
