The 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) was a record-breaking season in the history of the tournament. The season saw the Chennai Super King lift the title by defeating the Gujarat Titans in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This was their fifth title in the tournament, equalling the record of the Mumbai Indians for most Indian Premier League title wins.
The final was a long three-day affair, due to rain interruptions. The match was moved to a reserve day, as rain played spoilsport on Sunday. On the reserve day, the Gujarat Titans put on a mammoth 214 runs on the board on the back of some great batting performances, with Sai Sudharsan scoring 96 runs. In response, the Chennai Super Kings batting unit came together to chase down 170 runs on D/Ls in 15 overs. Devon Conway won the Player of the Match for his solid start to the innings, scoring 47 runs.
