IPL 2024: ‘God’s Plan Baby!’- Rinku Singh’s Post About Yash Dayal After RCB’s Triumph Over CSK Touches Hearts

A year ago, fast bowler Yash Dayal faced health issues after receiving online abuse for conceding five sixes in an over to Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) batsman Rinku Singh. A year later, while playing for a different team, Dayal redeemed himself in the tournament.

In the crucial IPL 2024 match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday, Dayal, now representing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), bowled the final over. Despite the pressure, he remained composed and conceded 43 runs while taking two wickets.

His performance prevented CSK from reaching the 201-run mark, which could have eliminated RCB from the tournament. After the game, Rinku shared a heartfelt Instagram story, resembling a virtual hug from the KKR batsman to Dayal.

Tagging Dayal in the story, Rinku wrote: “God’s plan baby”.

In pursuit of RCB’s impressive 218 for 5, CSK managed only 191 for 7, falling short by 27 runs. However, there’s more to the story. CSK needed to reach 201 to secure a playoff spot. Yet, Dayal had different intentions for the five-time champions.

The victory elevated RCB’s points total to 14, matching CSK’s tally. However, RCB surpassed CSK in the net run-rate category to claim the fourth position.

Commending Dayal’s performance, RCB captain Faf du Plessis, who topped Bengaluru’s batting charts with his 39-ball 54, remarked: “I want to dedicate my ‘Player of the Match’ award to Yash Dayal. He has a golden heart.”

Kohli’s ‘One Percent Chance’ theory gains fame post-RCB’s win over CSK

Despite losing seven of their initial eight games in the ongoing IPL 2024 season, RCB made a remarkable comeback by winning their next six matches, including a crucial victory over five-time champions CSK on Saturday night to secure a playoff spot. Following this triumph, a video of Virat Kohli emphasizing the significance of even a slim one percent chance circulated widely.

“There is a one percent chance, and sometimes that chance is good enough. But what matters is what you think about that one percent. Are you willing to give absolutely everything that you have to make that one into 10 and then grow that 10 into 30? Eventually something magical might come out of it,” Kohli could be heard telling a group of youngsters.

It’s fascinating how those words foreshadowed RCB’s journey to the playoffs this season, with Kohli emerging as a key figure in orchestrating their resurgence as the league’s leading run-scorer. Following his impressive 29-ball 47 in RCB’s 27-run victory over CSK on Saturday, Kohli, wearing the Orange Cap, has amassed a remarkable total of 708 runs in 14 innings in IPL 2024.

At the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, RCB posted an impressive total of 218 for 5, with contributions from various batsmen, notably skipper Faf du Plessis’s 39-ball 54, despite facing a challenging pitch. Subsequently, the hosts restricted CSK to 191 for 7, securing a 27-run victory.

However, the narrative doesn’t end there. Even in defeat, CSK had a chance to qualify for the playoffs if they reached the 201-run mark. Nonetheless, RCB’s paceman Yash Dayal (2/43) maintained composure in the final over, preventing the five-time champions from achieving their target.
