IPL 2024: Virat Kohli Arrives In India To Join RCB Ahead Of The Tournament

Veteran batter Virat Kohli arrived in India on Sunday, March 17 ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League season. He has been retained by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the upcoming edition of the T20 league.

Virat was on paternity leave and missed the recently concluded Test series against England at home. He and his wife, Anushka, were blessed with a baby boy. The veteran cricketer will return to the sport after a brief break during the 2024 Indian Premier League season. Ahead of the tournament, he arrived in India at the Mumbai airport. He also had a brief interaction with a fan. Kohli will be joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore training camp soon.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore will kick off the 2024 Indian Premier League season taking on the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings on Friday, March 22 at the  MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. They will be hoping Virat Kohli continues his fine form in the tournament. Last season, the right-handed batter scored 639 runs at a strike rate of 139.82, including two centuries.

Irfan Pathan makes huge prediction for Virat Kohli

Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan feels Virat Kohli will take the 2024 Indian Premier League season by storm with his batting performance. He expressed that the veteran will be fresh, and raring to go. Pathan also predicted that the former India skipper will have the second-best season, like 2016.

“First of all, he will be fresh. Guys like Virat Kohli, who are so fit, can be very dangerous for oppositions. He will be looking forward to playing in the IPL. I personally feel that he will have the second-best season of his life after 2016,” said Irfan Pathan in Star Sports’ Press Meet.

Virat Kohli has scored 7263 runs in the Indian Premier League at an average of 37.25, including seven centuries and fifty half-centuries. The Royal Challengers Bangalore cricketer is the leading run-scorer in the history of the T20 tournament.
