According to a report by The Telegraph, an FIR has been lodged against Virat Kohli’s restaurant in Bengaluru for violating the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA). This development comes just before the IPL 2025 final scheduled on Tuesday, June 3, between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS).
The FIR targets the manager and staff of One8 Commune, a restaurant co-owned by RCB’s star batsman Virat Kohli. The complaint alleges that the restaurant failed to provide a designated smoking area, as mandated by law. During a routine police patrol on Thursday, May 29, officers inspected the One8 Commune on Kasturba Road and identified the violation.
Following a formal complaint by an officer against the manager and staff, the case was registered at Cubbon Park police station on Saturday, May 31. It is noteworthy that in July last year, an FIR was also filed against the restaurant manager for operating beyond the allowed hours.
Virat Kohli Expected To Shine In IPL 2025 Final
Virat Kohli is set to take the field in the IPL 2025 final on Tuesday, June 3, as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) face off against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Ahmedabad. Both teams are yet to win the IPL trophy in the past 17 seasons and will be aiming for their first-ever title in tomorrow’s showdown.
RCB secured their place in the final by defeating PBKS in the first qualifier, while Punjab earned their spot by overcoming Mumbai Indians (MI) in the second qualifier. Kohli has been instrumental in RCB’s journey to the final this year.
Virat Kohli has been in stellar form this season, scoring 614 runs in 14 matches at an average of 55.81 and a strike rate of 146.53, including eight match-winning fifties. In the final, he’s expected to deliver another crucial knock to lead RCB toward their maiden IPL title.
