Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya and franchise owner Nita Ambani captured a special selfie with 19,000 schoolchildren from underprivileged backgrounds, who were present at Wankhede Stadium during MI’s win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 27.
During their annual Education and Sports for All (ESA) match, the MI skipper and co-owner marked the occasion by celebrating the victory with a memorable selfie alongside the enthusiastic young crowd. Mumbai Indians extended their remarkable comeback in IPL 2025 with a convincing 54-run triumph over LSG, securing their fifth consecutive win after a sluggish start to the campaign.
The occasion was even more meaningful as MI upheld their tradition of winning every ESA fixture — an initiative where the franchise, through the Reliance Foundation, brings children from various NGOs to experience a live IPL match at Wankhede Stadium.

“The kids created the atmosphere for us, we did it for them, so very glad,” Pandya said during the post-match presentation.
MI Dominate LSG with Strong Shows from Rickelton, Suryakumar and Bumrah
Batting first, Mumbai Indians set an imposing target of 215, powered by impressive knocks from Ryan Rickelton (58) and Suryakumar Yadav (54). The 19,000 schoolchildren in attendance were then treated to a bowling masterclass by Jasprit Bumrah, who delivered a sensational spell of 4/22, tearing through the Lucknow Super Giants’ batting line-up.
LSG’s batting struggled from the start, especially with skipper Rishabh Pant’s poor IPL 2025 form continuing as he fell cheaply once again. Against a sharp and disciplined MI bowling unit, spearheaded by the ever-dependable Bumrah, the visitors never looked in contention.
Mumbai Indians’ (MI) next match is scheduled against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
