Mumbai Indians (MI) pace ace Jasprit Bumrah engaged in an animated and intense conversation with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Mayank Yadav after their IPL 2025 clash on Sunday, April 27, at the Wankhede Stadium. Bumrah was seen making several hand gestures during the interaction, while the young pacer listened intently to the advice being shared.
Mayank Yadav, who made headlines last season for his express pace, featured in his first IPL 2025 match during LSG’s encounter with MI. The 22-year-old delivered a respectable spell of 4-0-40-2, claiming the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. Although his speeds weren’t clocking in the high 140s this time, they are expected to pick up as the tournament progresses.

Despite their efforts, the Super Giants ended up on the losing side, suffering a 54-run defeat at the Wankhede Stadium. It marked Lucknow’s second straight loss of the season, following their recent defeat to the Delhi Capitals at home.
Jasprit Bumrah Becomes Mumbai Indians’ Leading Wicket-Taker
During the clash against the Super Giants, Jasprit Bumrah also achieved a major milestone by becoming Mumbai Indians’ all-time leading wicket-taker, surpassing Lasith Malinga’s record of 170 wickets. The Ahmedabad-born pacer reached the landmark early, dismissing the in-form Aiden Markram in his second over and delivering a crucial blow to Lucknow’s batting lineup.
Bumrah continued his dominance by removing David Miller, Abdul Samad, and Avesh Khan, with his signature yorkers accounting for the last two dismissals. Among the Super Giants’ batters, only Mitchell Marsh (34) and Ayush Badoni (35) managed to cross the 30-run mark, as the team was bowled out for 161 in 20 overs while chasing a target of 216.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians, who began their IPL 2025 season with two straight defeats, have now secured five wins on the trot. With six victories overall, the five-time champions have climbed to third place in the points table.
