Jasprit Bumrah set a new milestone during Mumbai Indians’ (MI) IPL 2025 clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 27. The MI pace ace dismissed an in-form Aiden Markram for just nine runs off 11 balls to become MI’s all-time leading wicket-taker in IPL history.
The 31-year-old surpassed the previous record held by Lasith Malinga, who had taken 170 wickets in 122 matches. Bumrah achieved the historic feat in his 139th appearance for the franchise. The breakthrough came during the third over of LSG’s chase, when Bumrah delivered a back-of-a-length ball on leg stump.
Markram attempted a flick but mistimed his shot, sending a catch to Naman Dhir at deep backward square leg. You can watch the video here:

Suryakumar, Rickelton shine as MI post 216 against LSG in IPL 2025
Half-centuries from Suryakumar Yadav and Ryan Rickelton powered MI to a total of 215/7 against LSG in their IPL 2025 clash. Yadav struck 54 off 28 balls, hitting four sixes and four fours, while opener Rickelton impressed with a 58-run knock off 32 deliveries, featuring four sixes and six boundaries.
Contributions also came from Will Jacks (29 off 21), Naman Dhir (25* off 11), and Corbin Bosch (20 off 10). For LSG, Mayank Yadav and Avesh Khan were the top bowlers, each claiming two wickets, while Prince Yadav, Digvesh Rathi, and Ravi Bishnoi picked up one wicket each.
