The 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has finally come to an end. After two months of gruelling action, Gujarat Titans (GT) emerged as the winner, beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan picked his Best playing XI of IPL 2022 which consisted of players who gave their best in this IPL.
Pathan picked Gujarat all-rounder Hardik as the captain of his team. The 28-year-old all-rounder has led the team from the front, scoring crucial runs and picking up wickets when necessary. Hardik also made telling contributions in the final, returning with figures of 3/17 and scoring 34 runs with the bat.
KL Rahul and Orange Cap holder Jos Buttler are the openers in this team of Irfan Pathan. Both of them showed amazing consistency in the top order and did bulk of the scoring. Sanju Samson has been given the No.3 batting position along with the wicket keeper’s role.
Hard hitters Liam Livingstone and David Miller have been given the responsibility of finishing in this team. Both of them displayed great hitting abilities. Livingstone was also handy with the ball. Miller finished several matches for Gujarat which played crucial role in the success of Gujarat Titans.
Irfan Pathan leaves out Dinesh Karthik
Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal would lead the spin department. Both of them created immense pressure on opposition with their art of leg spin. Mohammed Shami, Umran Malik and Harshal Patel were the three pacers in Irfan’s team. Kuldeep Yadav is the 12th Man of the team. However exclusion of Dinesh Karthik is a very surprising decision
