Irfan Pathan Takes Dig At Virat Kohli And Rohit Sharma For Taking Rest From ODI Series vs West Indies

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been rested for the upcoming three-match ODI series in the West Indies. The series would start on 22nd July. It would comprise three ODIs which would be played in Queen’s Park Oval stadium. The BCCI announced a 17-member squad announced for the ODI series against the West Indies on Wednesday.

Shikhar Dhawan has been named as the captain in absence of Rohit Sharma. Several cricket fans are not happy with the exclusion of the senior duo of Virat Kohli and Rohit. Fans believe that both of them have taken more than enough rest in the last few months.

Even former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan didn’t look happy with the decision of resting Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Irfan Pathan believes that no one would come back to form by resting. Irfan Pathan in his tweet wrote:

“No one comes back to form while resting.”

“It is good to be back” – Rohit Sharma excited for white-ball series vs England

Rohit Sharma will be seen in action in the upcoming T20I and ODI series against England. He will be captaining the Indian team. Earlier Rohit missed the Test match against England due to COVID-19.

In a recent interview, Rohit Sharma asserted that he wants to play every game for his country. Speaking to reporters on the eve of the first T20I in Southampton, he said:

“It is good to be back. You do not want to miss games for your country. Certain things are out of your control. I just wanted to understand what was happening with the team. Today was the first day I joined the team. I was trying to understand what the mindset of the boys.”
