Team India speedster Jaydev Unadkat will miss the first Test match between India and Bangladesh in Chattogram beginning on Wednesday due to a delay in his visa arrival. However, as per the sources, he has not received his visa and the Board of Control for Cricket in India is looking into the matter to resolve it soon.

Notably, Unadkat received his first Indian team call-up in 12 years when he was added as a replacement for veteran pace bowler Mohammed Shami, who was ruled out with an injury as well.

However, this is not the first time that a player has missed out on a tour due to a visa delay. In October, Umran Malik and Kuldeep Sen could not travel with the Indian team to Australia as their visas didn’t come in time as well.

India likely to pick three spinners for opening Test vs Bangladesh

However, Jaydev Unadkat’s absence could give a chance to another speedster Navdeep Saini but the team management is yet to make the final choice of the playing XI as well. And, it could be a toss-up between Saini and a third spinner, who could either be Saurabh Kumar, the left-arm spinner who has been added as a back-up for Ravindra Jadeja and did well in the build-up to the Tests, or Kuldeep Yadav, the veteran left-arm spinner.

The playing XI, otherwise, would be with the captain KL Rahul and Shubman Gill as the openers, with the two pacers being Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj and the two spinners will be Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel as well. And, only the 11th player is left for the final decision.

However, the second Test match of the two-match Test series will start on December 22 in Dhaka as well.
