Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders are currently facing other in Match 30 of IPL 2022. KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl.

For RR, Jos Buttler played another splendid knock. He registered his second hundred of the season smashing 103 runs off 61 balls. His innings consisted of 9 fours and 5 maximums. With this, Buttler became the fourth batter to score a hundred in an IPL Match played at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. Yusuf Pathan, Shane Watson and KL Rahul are the other names in the list.

Earlier against Mumbai Indians also, Buttler had made a 100 from 68 balls in Match 9 of the ongoing season. Virat Kohli currently holds the record for most centuries in a single IPL season. Kohli had made 4 centuries in 2016, a season where he amassed 973 runs. With the kind of form Buttler has displayed so far, there is a possibility that the Englishman can break, or equal Kohli’s record this time.

Here is how Twitter reacted to Jos Buttler’s second century of IPL 2022:

“It was good fun to be in the middle” – Jos Buttler

Meanwhile, Jos Buttler’s knock propelled Rajasthan to a massive score of 217/5. This is the highest Team score so far in IPL 2022. Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer also made some valuable contributions with the bat. Hetmyer again finished the innings in the perfect manner for RR playing a quickfire knock of 26 off 13.

Jos Buttler is currently the orange cap holder in IPL 2022. In 6 matches, he has scored 375 runs at an impressive strike rate of 157. KL Rahul, who is second on the list, is behind Buttler by a good margin of 140 runs.

After today’s knock, Buttler said: “I enjoyed both [centuries this season]. A little bit more fluent today. Great to get such a good score but with one side so short never know what is enough. It was good fun to be in the middle. Even if you get hit from a length, you need to keep hitting that same length again.”
