Key Players from India in the IPL Auction 2018

The IPL Auction ceremony will take place on January 27. The major retentions 3 out of possible 5 took place on January 4 but many players were left out. They are expected to be retained or sold in the upcoming auction.

Around 1122 players have registered their name for the IPL auction that will take place in Bangaluru on January 27 & 28. It has 281 capped players, 838 uncapped players, including 778 Indians and three players from Associate nations. Many of these players have set their base prices.

1. Gautam Gambhir

The former star opening batsman for team India have got an amorous experience of playing in the Indian Premier League. He started his IPL career with Delhi Daredevils but later moved to the Shahrukh Khan-owned Kolkata based franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders.

He has won two IPL titles while leading KKR in the year 2012 and 2014. It came as a shock when they did not retain him as only two players were retained from Kolkata this time around. The base price of Gautam Gambhir is 2 crores and teams like Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Daredevils will be eyeing to sign him on a leadership role if KKR will not retain him.

2. Yuzvendra Chahal

The leg spin bowler, Yuzvendra Chahal had a splendid previous year. He entered the limited-overs side for team India and had a quite promising performance for his side. He picked 23 wickets 11 T20Is and 21 wickets in 13 ODI innings.

In IPL 2017, he managed 14 wickets in 13 matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He started his IPL career with Mumbai Indians in 2011 but was part of RCB from 2014 who did not retain him. His base price also includes 2 crore rupees. He can turn the matches around on his own.

3. Kuldeep Yadav

The 23-year-old Slow left-arm Chinaman bowler made the most of 2017 alongside Yuzvendra Chahal in limited overs cricket for team India. The young lad picked 12 wickets in 8 T20Is and 22 wickets in 14 ODI matches in 2017.

He started his career with Mumbai Indians but was part of Kolkata Knight Riders during his last season of IPL where he managed to pick 12 wickets. He has set his base price to 1.5 crore rupees for IPL auction.

4. Ravichandran Ashwin

The Right-Arm off break bowler has got an amorous amount of experience of playing in the Indian Premier League. Having played for Chennai Super Kings in first eight IPL seasons, he was expected to be retained by his franchise but was not retained. He did not play the limited overs cricket anymore but have done very well in the longer version of the game last year.

He is in top 5 of ICC bowlers rankings. He has picked over 100 wickets in IPL but was not part of the previous edition with a sports hernia injury. He always lists in top 5 bowlers among wicket-takers in every IPL seasons in which he features. His base price is 2 crore rupees.

5. Yuvraj Singh

The left-hand allrounder batsman may have lost his place in team India squad but have got the ability to hit big sixes and pick up wickets with the bowl when needed. Many of us already know his potential what he can bring to the table after all he is the only batsman to hit six sixes in T20s. He also has 2 hat-tricks to his name in the Indian Premier League.

He recently passed the Yo-Yo Test and will be looking for a good IPL season in order to make his team India comeback. He has amassed over 2500 runs in IPL matches in which he has played for numerous teams. He is expected to be sold easily for his match-winning ability.
