Kieron Pollard is the ultimate showman whether he has the bat or ball in his hands during IPL. Last night as stand-in skipper of Mumbai Indians he decided to roll his arm over and cheap in with a few overs. Pollard even gave a ‘Mankading’ warning to Shikhar Dhawan who face backing up too far.
Kieron Pollard Gives Shikhar Dhawan ‘Mankading’ Warning
The Delhi Capitals opener was looking for an opportunity to steal a quick run even before Pollard delivered the ball. At the last moment, Pollard decided to pull out from delivering the ball and signalled Dhawan to stay in his crease.
The veteran Pollard even had a smirk on his face and told Dhawan he was just having some fun. However, Dhawan after that wasn’t backing up too far with the possibility of Pollard ‘Mankading’ him at a crucial stage of the match.
The controversial ‘Mankading’ dismissal has always been an event in the IPL. If Pollard executed it last night it would have become the biggest highlight of the DC and MI match. Nevertheless, Pollard let Dhawan escape and just gave him a polite warning and reminded him about ‘Mankading’ dismissal.

Meanwhile, Pollard did pick the crucial wicket of Steve Smith in the run chase but it wasn’t enough. Dhawan continued his prolific IPL 2021 batting form and stood firm for his side in a tense run chase. He played as an anchor and scored 45 from 43 deliveries on a challenging wicket in Chennai.
Towards the end, Shimron Hetmyer and Lalit Yadav kept their composure and took their side home. Delhi Capitals chased down the target of 138 with 5 balls to spare and defeated the defending champions in Chennai.
