Kolkata Knight Riders’ rusty run in the ongoing Indian Premier League continues as they went down against defending champions Mumbai Indians. Soon after their defeat, former India opener Virender Sehwag took a shot at Kolkata calling them a bits and pieces team.
Lats night, Mumbai thrashed KKR by eight wickets in Abu Dhabi to reel with eight points from eight matches. The batters once again let them down until Pat Cummins valiant effort put them to a formidable total. Meanwhile, ahead of the game, Dinesh Karthik stunned one and all by stepping down from leadership duties.
It didn’t augur well with the entire side and had an instant impact on the result of the side. After the game against Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders have had to face a lot of flak from cricketers and fans alike. Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag took a dig at the franchise.

He also added that Kolkata didn’t show any intent at the start to lay a good foundation. Sehwag is also of the opinion that Shubman Gill should be advised to go all out in the powerplays otherwise demote his batting position.
“It is very important for any captain to sit back with his team and ponder over the areas of concern that have been there in the games so far. The team should work on their positives and a strong decision should come forward in regard to the final eleven,” Virender Sehwag said.

“Everyone should be given a free mind to play and express themselves on the field because this team is currently looking like a bits-and-pieces side. The leader should lead from the front and take strong decisions. Shubman Gill should be advised to either attack in the powerplay or his batting position must be changed. It is very important to start on a strong note because if the foundation isn’t sturdy, the wall is bound to fall,” Virender Sehwag added.
Sitting in the fourth spot, KKR need to go all guns blazing from the next games to keep themselves floating in the top half of the points table.
