Ace spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are having a stellar IPL season up till now and are taking wickets for their side on a regular basis now. Both of them are on top of the wicket-taking leaderboard in the 15th edition of the cash-rich league.
On Thursday, Kuldeep showed the fans why he is such a mystery bowler and on his day, can get crucial wickets at times. He returned with 4/14 runs in three overs to derail his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). His tally of wickets for the season now stands at 17 from eight games.
When asked about his competition with Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav asserted that the former is like a ‘big brother’ and wants him to win the Purple Cap. Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, the Delhi Capitals spinner said:
“There has never been competition with him (Chahal). He has encouraged me a lot. He has been like a big brother and stood by me during my bad times. In my heart, I want him to go and win the Purple Cap because he has been bowling exceptionally over the past four years.”
Both Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have the utmost respect for each other and have supported each other through thick and thin. Even though both of them play for different franchises, the main goal is to make sure that they both excel whenever their team needs them to step up and deliver.
“I don’t get scared of failing now” – Kuldeep Yadav
The 27-year-old further said the last two years have made him mentally stronger. Kuldeep also added that he is not scared of failing anymore which has made him a better bowler.
“I might have become a better bowler, but I am mentally stronger than before. When you fail in life you pick what you can improve on and that is something I had to improve. I don’t get scared of failing now,” added the star spinner.
