Team India skipper Rohit Sharma’s poor run with the bat continued as he got out cheaply in the T20 World Cup game against Bangladesh in Adelaide on Wednesday, November 2. Meanwhile, it has not been a captain’s tournament, as skippers of other teams have also failed to make it big.
Even India captain Rohit Sharma hasn’t been able to get going in this tournament. Apart from his fifty against the Netherlands, he hasn’t scored too many runs. He was also dismissed cheaply against Bangladesh for two runs after facing eight balls. Hasan Mahmud dropped Sharma but got the better of him in his next over. He was dismissed by Hasan Mahmud and caught by Yasir Ali.
Fans were certainly not happy with Rohit Sharma’s dismal form with the bat and slammed the Indian captain across social media platforms.

This is Rohit Sharma's worse possible start as a batsman to his ICC tournaments.

Let us celebrate the end of Rohit Sharma's cricket
— Neelba (@Neelba1) November 2, 2022
This string of low scores is a concern for India, given that the semi-finals are close, and they will most definitely be playing. Their hope in the last game was Zimbabwe. Rohit Sarma will hope to get some runs under his belt before the knockout stage.
He has scored only 74 runs in 4 innings at a strike rate of 108.82 and an average of 18.50 in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
Australia is a place where Rohit Sharma has usually done well on the international stage, but unfortunately, we haven’t seen his fluent best. He is unable to play for longer durations in this format after getting a start. This year he has crossed the 50 mark only three times, unlike him.
India get off to a good start against Bangladesh
At the end of the powerplay scored 37-1 with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul at the crease. This game also saw Kohli surpassing Mahela Jayawardene as the highest overall run-getter in the tournament’s history. He has added another milestone to other records he has shattered.
At the time of writing, the Men in Blue are at 150/5 at the end of 17 overs.
