Renowned cricket coach Tarak Sinha, who has gifted India a lot of international cricketers, has passed away at the age of 71. He was suffering from cancer for the last couple of months and eventually breathed his last due to a multi-organ failure.
Founder of the Sonnet Club in Delhi, Tarak acted as the supply chain for Delhi cricket. He is known for nurturing young talents and shaping their careers.
Tarak Sinha has trained the likes of Randhir Singh, Surender Khanna, Raman Lamba, Manoj Prabhakar, Atul Wassan, Ajay Sharma, K. P. Bhaskar, Sanjeev Sharma, Ashish Nehra, Aakash Chopra, Anjum Chopra, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rishabh Pant.
“It is with a heavy heart we have to share this tragic news of Shri Tarak Sinha, the founder of the Sonnet Club, has left for his heavenly abode at 3 am on Saturday after a brave battle with lung cancer for two months,” Sonnet Cricket Club said in a statement.
“He has been the soul of Sonnet Cricket Club which has given India and Delhi cricket so many gems,” it added.

Tarak Sinha was the fifth Indian cricket coach after Desh Prem Azad, Gurcharan Singh, Ramakant Achrekar and Sunita Sharma to receive the Dronacharya Award. The coach from Delhi was awarded the honour in 2018.
Team India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who is currently busy with the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE and Oman, also took to Twitter to express his condolences. The southpaw wrote:
“My mentor, coach, motivator, my biggest critic and my greatest fan. You took care of me like your son, I am devastated. You will always be with me whenever I walk out onto the field. My heartfelt condolences & prayers. May your soul rest in peace, Tarak sir.”

Former India captain Anjum Chopra took to Twitter to share her condolences with the family. She wrote:

Former India opener and decorated commentator Aakash Chopra also shared a heartfelt note for his coach. Taking to the microblogging site Twitter, he wrote:
