Lucknow Super Giants Release Manish Pandey, Jason Holder Among Others Ahead Of 2023 IPL Auction

The Lucknow Super Giants have announced their list of retained and released players ahead of the 2023 Indian Premier League auction. The franchise has retained most of its players from the previous edition, who played a key role in their team’s campaign. Meanwhile, Veteran cricketer Manish Pandey, who couldn’t make an impact last season, has been released by the Lucknow Super Giants.

Manish Pandey struggled to score runs in the tournament. He managed just 88 runs in six innings, at an average of 14.67 and a strike rate of 110.00. Along with Manish Pandey, all-rounder Jason Holder is also among the list of players who have been released by the franchise. Holder scored 58 runs and 14 wickets last season. The KL Rahul-led team has also let go of Andrew Tye, Ankit Rajpoot, Dushmantha Chameera, Evin Lewis, and Shahbaz Nadeem.

Youngsters Ayush Badoni and Karan Sharma retained by the Lucknow Super Giants

The Lucknow Super Giants have retained their experienced performers, KL Rahul, Quinton De Kock, and Krunal Pandya for the upcoming season. The likes of Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, and Deepak Hooda will also be seen again in the Lucknow jersey. Meanwhile, the team has also kept a lot of faith in youngsters Ayush Badoni and Karan Sharma.

Ayush Badoni showcased his talent in the 2022 Indian Premier League season for the franchise. He was one of the most exciting talents of the tournament. On the other hand, Karan Sharma only played one match in the edition. The KL Rahul-led team has backed the youngster and will be looking to provide more opportunities this season.
