Mithali Raj is overjoyed after a little girl does something special for the Indian Women”s captain

The Captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket team who took India to the finals of the recently concluded ICC Women’s World Cup has been a common name in every household since then. The 34-year-old Mithali Raj has inspired many girls to take up cricket as a profession all over India.

A fan of the Indian Women’s cricket team recently posted a video on Twitter from the Twitter handle @aekbote where the girl was seen dressed like a women cricketer with a bat in her hand in a school assignment where they had to dress up as their favorite national leader.

The video was captioned with a message which said, “Dress up as any national leader for the school event. Our very own captain of Indian cricket team @M_Raj03 to inspire my daughter.. #MithaliRaj.” The little girl in the video who was wearing the Indian cricket team jersey was heard saying,”I am the captain of the Indian Cricket team.”

Mithali Raj, who was overwhelmed by the message, was quick to respond. She replied on Twitter which said, “This is cute! May she achieve her endeavors in all the spheres of life!”

The Indian Women’s Cricket team after their heroics in the World Cup has been greeted wholeheartedly despite losing the final to England by nine runs.

Mithali Raj has been a prolific run scorer for India over the years. She recently completed 6000 runs in ODI’s to become the first women cricketer to score the same edging past England’s, Charlotte Edwards. She also holds the record of scoring seven consecutive fifties and was included in the ICC World Cup team.
