Texas Super Kings skipper Faf du Plessis pulled off a brilliant acrobatic catch to dismiss MI New York’s Michael Bracewell during their 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) clash at the Oakland Coliseum. The veteran’s athletic effort proved to be a pivotal moment in the second innings, with Super Kings defending a solid total of 185/6.
MI New York were already reeling at 24/3 inside six overs, losing key wickets including captain Nicholas Pooran. However, a recovery was staged by Monank Patel and Bracewell, who stitched together a vital fourth-wicket stand. Their partnership flourished during the middle overs, edging close to a 100-run stand.
At the end of the 13th over, MI New York had reached 119/3, putting the match on even ground. In the following over, Michael Bracewell attempted to take on fellow Kiwi Adam Milne, slicing one towards the offside. The shot carried just enough for Faf du Plessis, positioned at mid-off, to make a move.
Reacting instantly, he dived full stretch to his right and completed a spectacular one-handed catch just inches above the turf, turning the tide in Texas Super Kings’ favour. You can watch the video here:
