Simplicity of MS Dhoni’s cricketing advice
One of the most profound pieces of advice that Dhoni has imparted to Simarjeet is the importance of playing “simple cricket.” Instead of over-complicating strategies, Dhoni advocates for sticking to the basics, staying calm under pressure, and focusing on consistency.
“He (MS Dhoni) has taught me a lot; it’s not just one thing he has helped me with. We keep asking him for advice, and he always simplifies things by saying that playing simple cricket is the best way to play,” he added.
“I just want to learn and when senior India players come and play domestic cricket. We get to learn a lot for them,” he said.
Simarjeet and the IPL Auctions
As the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega-auctions approach, Simarjeet remains focused on his performances rather than worrying about which franchise might pick him. His goal is to contribute to whichever team he plays for and continue to grow as a cricketer.
“I just want to play cricket, wherever I go, whichever franchise picks me I just want to play and grow as a cricketer,” he commented.
As one of the senior players in the East Delhi Riders team, Simarjeet helps guide and develop young talent.
“Youngsters come to me and plan their strategies for every game. I think it is a very good opportunity for players in Delhi to showcase their skills and talent and earn a maiden domestic call-up,” he signed off.
