Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Deepak Chahar has shared an update on his fitness. The celebrated all-rounder, who was roped in for massive INR 14 crore at the auction, has missed the first two games of IPL 2022.

Incidentally, Chahar suffered a hamstring injury during the three-match T20I series against India at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Since then, he has been undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

The 29-year-old shared an update on his fitness via an Instagram story on Friday. He posted a short clip of him bowling in the nets at the BCCI facility. Deepak Chahar captioned the post as:

“Update on demand.”

It was initially expected that he would miss the entire tournament, but Deepak Chahar has made progress in the last few days and could make his return by the middle of April.

In the last few seasons while playing for Chennai, Chahar has made a name for himself by being one of the most consistent performers in the league. He was the most trusted weapon of former CSK skipper MS Dhoni in the powerplay overs and hardly ever disappointed.

“CSK are already missing Deepak Chahar” – Aakash Chopra

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra believes CSK are already missing the 29-year-old all-rounder. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra said:

“We always underrate CSK and then they do wonders. After the disaster of 2020, 2021 was the comeback of all times. But this season hasn’t begun well for them. CSK are already missing Deepak Chahar. The ability to take wickets with the new ball is missing.”

For the first time in IPL history, the Chennai Super Kings have lost both their opening games, losing to Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants.
