India’s X-factor player, Hardik Pandya came to the party scoring 63 of 33 balls striking at 190.91 which consisted of 4 fours and 5 maximums in the T20 World Cup semi-final against England. Pandya started slowly in his innings initially and then accelerated towards the death overs taking on Sam Curran and Chris Jordan to get India to 168-6.

Pandya who hasn’t had a great tournament with a bat and is striking at a run-a-ball announced himself in the semi-finals and showed his worth and value to this playing 11. Before this knock, he scored only 65 runs in his four innings. Unfortunately, on the last ball of the innings, he got out via a hit wicket.

Let’s look at some Twitter reactions to the brilliance of Hardik Pandya:

India post 168/6 riding on Hardik Pandya

Virat Kohli’s love affair with Adelaide has just continued scoring another half-century. This is his 4th half-century of the tournament as well as in a knock game in the T20 World Cup.

Kohli has yet to achieve another milestone to his name becoming the first player in this format to score 4000 T20I runs. Time and again he is proving his worth and standing up for the team. He is currently the tournament’s highest run-getter scoring 296 runs in 6 innings.

Today also saw another scratchy outing with the bat from both openers, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul who couldn’t get going again. The former was dismissed scoring 27 runs whereas the latter scored 5 runs. Both were striking at almost a run-a-ball.  The in-form Suryakumar Yadav had a quiet outing today with the bat as scored only 14 runs off 10 balls.

England began their pursuit of this target of 169 to seal their spot in the finals versus Pakistan.
