India vice-captain KL Rahul was yet another being dismissed for a low score in the T20 World Cup semi-final against England on Thursday, November 10. Apart from the two half-centuries, he scored versus Zimbabwe and Bangladesh he has failed to create an impression in this tournament.

Rahul got off the mark with a boundary in the first over versus Ben Stokes. Chris Woakes dismissed him the next over. He bowled a bowl that seamed away and extracted some bounce from the surface. Rahul’s footwork was poor when he played the shot and a simple catch was taken by Jos Buttler.

Let’s look at some Twitter reactions to another low score by Rahul:

KL Rahul has scored only 128 runs in this tournament at a strike rate of 121 which doesn’t do justice to a player of his calibre. It was a poor shot selection which was the reason why he had to walk back to the pavilion.

Virat Kohli revives India after an early debacle

At the halfway stage India is 62-2 with both the openers being dismissed. Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Chris Jordan in the 9th over. He played a very scratchy inning and mistimed several shots. He never seemed to have found a rhythm today and scored 27 runs in 28 balls.

At the crease are India’s two in-form batters, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav will be expected to build a partnership and take India to a good score.

Suryakumar Yadav’s stay at the crease was a brisk one today scoring 14 runs in 10 balls after being dismissed by Adil Rashid. During his stay at the crease, his knock compromised one four and one six.
