KL Rahul

Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul scored his fourth fifty this season as Punjab Kings batted first against Royal Challengers Bangalore in match 26 of IPL 2021. he scored an unbeaten 91 off 57 balls as his side finished on a competitive 179/5 after their 20 overs. He was well supported by Chris Gayle who scored 46 and shared an 80-run stand with Rahul. Harpreet Brar’s late cameo also helped them get to that score as well.

Meanwhile, The Punjab Kings management had a special gesture after KL Rahul reached his fourth fifty of the season. The management crew stood and applauded and imitated KL Rahul’s iconic celebration as they put their hands over the years.

KL Rahul himself has time and again opened up as to what the celebration is all about. He had told, “It is self-explanatory. It (the celebration) is just to shut out the noise, not to disrespect anyone.”

Meanwhile, the current Purple Cap holder Harshal Patel went for 53 off his spell without a wicket. Kyle Jamieson picked up 2/32 while Yuzvendra Chahal picked up 1/34.

Punjab Kings who are sixth on the points table need to make a good effort with te ball after their batters have put up runs on the board. They have two wins on their first six games and need to win this badly to stay in contention for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, this win will take RCB to the top of the points table. They are placed third with 10 points and just one loss in the season so far. With Glenn Maxwell and AB De Villiers in good form, RCB should fancy themselves of chasing down the target.

Up at the top Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli also are informm. Padikkal has also scored his maiden IPL ton against Rajasthan Royals earlier in the season.
