Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are back in Dubai for Match 40 of IPL 2020 to play each other in the second leg. Australian teammates Steve Smith and David Warner face off each other with both looking to outplay each other in the process. Royals are placed at number six in the points table, while SRH are at number seven. All the remaining games are must-win for both teams to make a case for themselves in the playoffs.

Rajasthan Royals are coming into this game on the back of an important win against Chennai Super Kings in their previous game. Steve Smith and Jos Buttler got back amongst the runs with the tournament heading towards its business end.

A lot at stake for both Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad

Jofra Archer bowled with lethal place inside the powerplay to set the game up for the Royals. With Smith and Buttler back in form and the bowling attack headed by Archer, they look a confident attack to challenge the opposition. However, Sanju Samson and Robin Uthappa’s form will keep them thinking. Samson started brilliantly in the first two games but thereafter has blown hot and cold in the next games.

Uthappa scored 41, opening the batting against RCB which is his highest score so far in the tournament. The Royals beat SRH in their first meeting which will keep them in good stead heading into this encounter.

Sunrisers Hyderabad looks low on confidence after their defeat in the Super Over against Kolkata Knight Riders. They had the chase in control throughout but failed to make it count in the final over. They are coming into this game after a three-day break having focused on the areas they need to work on to win the remaining games.

Contributions have been far and few from their inconsistent middle-order and the absence of Bhuvneshwar Kumar has added all the wicket-taking pressure to Rashid Khan. However, the bowlers did a good job to restrict KKR to under 170 in their previous game and will look to do the same against the Royals in a must-win game.

Head to Head:

It’s six each to the two sides in the 12 games so far. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets in the first leg.

Pitch & Weather Conditions

Sunrisers have favoured batting first in this tournament, while Royals have preferred chasing. Royals chased down 158 against Sunrisers at this same venue, Also since they won their last game chasing comprehensively, they would like to follow the same template in this game as well.

Team News

Rajasthan Royals would not like to change anything about their squad having registered a comfortable victory in their last game. SRH meanwhile, have their bowling attack to sort out. Basil Thampi playing his first game in this season could not penetrate the KKR batting line-up. He might make way for the experienced Siddharth Kaul in the XI. Also with Kane Williamson’s injury, they might look to replace him with the all-rounder Jason Holder baking on his experience.
