Suryakumar Yadav had a dream debut in international cricket during the recently concluded five-match T20I series between India and England where the home side 3-2 in a thrilling finisher. While Suryakumar had to wait long for his opportunity, it was worth the wait. He has bowled over everyone with his batting skills including Team India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who is in awe of Suryakumar Yadav.

After a long haul and consistent performance in domestic cricket, the Mumbai Indians batsman got a call for the T20Is against England. After a humiliating loss in the first game, Suryakumar Yadav was handed the debut cap in the 2nd outing but didn’t get an opportunity to bat as another debutant Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli chased down the total convincingly.

He was unlucky to be dropped in the 3rd game, but when he returned for the fourth encounter, Suryakumar made sure he leaves a mark. He played a fine knock of 57 runs before being adjudged out in a controversial manner. He backed his knock with another quickfire 32 off just 17 deliveries to give India the momentum they needed.

The entire cricketing fraternity has been drooling over Suryakumar Yadav’s knocks as he looked like he has been playing international cricket for ages. Ravichandran Ashwin was also mighty impressed with his batting displays and took to microblogging website Twitter to lavish praise on the 30-year-old batsman.

 ‘Sky is the limit for SKY’. “They say “SKY” is the limit but who will limit the “SKy”?? Unreal skills from Surya,” Ashwin wrote in a tweet as he was left in awe of Surykumar’s brilliant show.

India clinch series in a thrilling decider

Chasing 225 runs set by India was a massive task, but with Jos Buttler and Dawid Malan going great guns, England were on course up until the 12th over. But then the turnaround happened as the trio of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, and Shardul Thakur showed great variety in their bowling. England lost four wickets in the next 20 balls, unable to keep up with the constant changes in lines, lengths, and speeds, and just like that their chase unraveled and fell short by 36 runs to go down in the series 2-3.
