Kolkata Knight Riders‘ player Rinku Singh reflected on his performance in the ongoing IPL season, admitting to a downturn in form compared to last year. While he scored 474 runs last season, he’s only managed 168 runs in 12 matches this time. Despite expectations of being selected for India’s T20 World Cup squad, he was named among the tournament’s reserves.
Speaking after KKR’s match against Mumbai Indians, Singh acknowledged his inconsistent form this season. “Itni batting aayi nahi aur sir agar batting aayi bhi toh utna acha kar nahi paya main team ke liye. Thode up and down chal rahe hai abhi. Main apne aap ko mentally strong rakhta hoon aur calm rakhta hoon. Aur believe karata rehta hoon apne aap ko ki ho jayega agle match mein. Mai aage ka jyada sochta nahi hoon aur present mein jeeta hoon.”
