Winning in the life and in the IPL is very important. Players and teams can go to any distance for those two points. IPL keeps people and even players at the edge of the seats and most of the matches are nail-biting. IPL keeps on providing thrillers from time to time and the intensity is also quite high. Players sometimes show emotions and gestures which they don’t intend to do but come out in the heat of the moment.

One of the events of such controversy was seen yesterday when a 50-50 call wasn’t given in favour of the batsman. Delhi needed an improbable 36 in 6 balls. Rovman Powell hit 3 consecutive sixes of the first three balls to put the pressure on Obed Mcoy, the Rajasthan bowler.

The third six was the controversial call from the umpire as it should have been a no-ball according to the DC camp. Pant and coaching staff got furious with this decision and Delhi coaching staff came onto the field to talk to the umpire. In the end, the decision stood and Rajasthan won the game by 15 runs.

IPL has decided the punishments for breaching the code of conduct. Pant admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. Thakur admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. Pravin Amre admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.20 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction.

Because of this incident, Rishabh Pant has been charged 100% of his match fees, Shardul Thakur has been fined 50% of his match fees and Pravin Amre, the assistant coach has been fined 100% of his match fees and has been banned for one game as well.

Ashwin reacts on DC coach coming onto the field in the last over

Ravichandran Ashwin also gave his view on this incident and he said, “When the assistant coach came onto the field, it helped us calm our nerves and bowl to our strengths.” That break in momentum maybe costed DC the match and they have nothing but themselves to blame for this.
