India’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has recovered from covid-19 and has completed the mandatory quarantine period. He tested positive on July 8 and was in isolation at a relative’s house for a period of ten days as prescribed by Public Health England. Rishabh joined the Indian team camp earlier this week in Durham.
The wicket-keeper batsman is ‘Making new friends in Durham. He posted a video on his Instagram account and captioned it as, “Got a new friend”.
After the conclusion of the three-day warm-up match, the Indian players seem to be enjoying the weekend touring Durham. Pant posted another couple of pictures on his Instagram account.
KL Rahul stars in India’s warm-up match
In Rishabh Pant’s absence, KL Rahul kept wickets for India. Rahul also scored a century before retiring out on 101 in the first innings. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja hit twin fifties in the match. Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for India with three wickets in the match.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane missed the warm-up match due to back stiffness and hamstring injury respectively. Both of them will be available for the Test series. The likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, and Ishant Sharma were rested for the first warm-up match.
The five-match Test series between India and England kickstart on August 4 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
