The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic has had a massive impact on every sphere of life including cricket. The cricket boards are suffering huge losses due to no cricketing activity. To recover some loss, Cricket Australia proposed five-match Test series against India instead of the scheduled four. However, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar is against playing all the Test matches in one venue.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli & Co are scheduled to play Australia for a series across formats including four Tests. The expectations were high from the red-ball series after India registered their first series win Down Under when they toured in 2018-19. However, this time around, the home side will have a full-fledged squad including Steve Smith and David Warner, who missed the last series due to a ban.

However, Cricket Australia CEO Kevin Roberts had recently proposed a five-match series to recover some of the losses. They have also floated the idea of playing all the games in one venue behind the closed-doors. However, Sachin Tendulkar is against such ideas.

“I don’t support it at all. On a lighter vein, I would say that by the end of the five Tests, Australia would not know if they were the home team or India. But seriously, having five matches at one venue is not something that I support,” Tendulkar said to Mumbai Mirror.

However, BCCI is yet to comment on the same. They are anticipated to take a call once the prevailing situation on the coronavirus pandemic improves. However, the Sourav Ganguly-led panel main focus will be on hosting the Indian Premier League (IPL) which had to be postponed for an indefinite period scheduled to commence from March 29.
