Former English Women Cricketer Appointed Wicket-Keeper Coach Of The Sussex Men’s Team

Sarah Taylor is widely regarded as one of the top wicket-keepers to ever play the game. Several experts have often compared her wicket-keeping style to that of MS Dhoni as they both possessed incredibly fast hands while attempting stumping. Now the former England women’s cricketer is all set to guide the wicket-keepers of the Sussex men’s team in England country cricket.

Sarah Taylor has been added to the coaching staff of Sussex for the upcoming county season where she along with Ashley Wright will be working with the professional players of the squad. The former women’s cricketer will be working with the men’s wicket-keepers and will be aiming to improve their skills so that they are an asset with the gloves for Sussex.

“Sussex Cricket is delighted to announce the addition of Sarah Taylor and Ashley Wright to its coaching staff for the forthcoming season,” Sussex Cricket said in a statement

Meanwhile, Sarah is pleased with the opportunity to coach young wicket-keepers of Sussex and is looking forward to working with them in the upcoming County season. Sarah said that she will try to keep things simple as a coach so that players can express and enjoy themselves.

“I’m really pleased about working with the club’s wicketkeepers. From Ben Brown and Phil Salt in the professional squad and down through the pathway, we have a really talented group of keepers at Sussex who I am looking forward to working with immensely. I want to share my experience and expertise to help them get the most out of their game. I’m a big believer in keeping things simple and perfecting the basics so that players can enjoy and express themselves with the gloves.”, Sarah said in a statement.

Talking about the record of Sarah as a wicket-keeper in her career, she has a total of 227 wicket-keeping dismissal which is the most in the history of women’s international cricket. In her prolific 13 years international cricket career she also scored 7,000 and is tagged as one of the greatest to ever play for England women’s side.
