Shreyas Iyer Buys Luxury Mercedes G-Wagon

Indian cricket star Shreyas Iyer recently showed off his brand-new black Mercedes G-Wagon following the conclusion of the IPL 2025 season. After wrapping up both the IPL and the T20 Mumbai League, Shreyas has been enjoying some downtime. He took to Instagram to share several pictures with his luxury SUV.

In the photos, Shreyas is seen sitting on the hood, standing confidently in front of the vehicle, and even behind the wheel. Dressed in an oversized black t-shirt, matching black pants, black shoes, and stylish shades, the dynamic batter sported a sleek and relaxed look.

“Going places,” he captioned the post.

Shreyas Iyer was recently seen vacationing in Kazakhstan. During the off-season, he also shared a light-hearted moment playing an indoor game of cricket with a plastic ball against his mother at home. On the professional front, Iyer has been in top form, having led the Punjab Kings (PBKS) to the IPL 2025 final and guiding the SoBo Mumbai Falcons to the T20 Mumbai League 2025 final.

Shreyas Iyer Excluded From India’s Test Line-up

The Indian team is currently in England for a five-match Test series. They lost the opening Test in Leeds by five wickets. The second Test is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 2, at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Shreyas Iyer hasn’t been included in the squad, despite his strong form during the previous domestic season and the IPL.

Iyer had an excellent 2024–25 Ranji Trophy season for Mumbai, scoring 480 runs in five matches at an impressive average of 68.57, including two centuries. The right-handed batter made his Test debut in 2021 and has since played 14 matches, scoring 811 runs at an average of 36.86. His Test record includes one century and five half-centuries.

With senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli not part of the current tour, Iyer might have expected a call-up. However, selectors have opted to go in a different direction, and his return to red-ball cricket at the international level will have to wait.
