Shreyas Iyer Frustrated After Falling For 78 In IND vs ENG 2025 3rd ODI

Indian batter Shreyas Iyer shared his disappointment after falling short of a century in the third ODI against England on Wednesday, February 12, in Ahmedabad. Batting first, Team India put up an impressive total of 356, powered by a brilliant 112 from Shubman Gill.

Iyer contributed significantly as the second-highest scorer, making 78 off 64 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes. Speaking after the match, Iyer expressed his regret over missing out on a hundred.

“Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli laid a great platform and that helped me to excel. I wish I could have got a hundred,” Iyer said (via Cricbuzz).

Despite falling short of a century, Iyer’s innings was vital in India’s commanding 142-run victory, sealing a 3-0 series sweep. Up next, Team India will head to Dubai for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Finishing as the series’ second-highest run-scorer, Iyer amassed 181 runs in three games at an impressive average of 60.33 and a striking rate of 123.12, including two half-centuries. His form serves as a significant boost for India ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy.
