Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has been named captain of the India A squad for the upcoming two multi-day games against Australia A later this month. Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel has been appointed vice-captain, with the squad also featuring players like Sai Sudharsan, Devdutt Padikkal, and Prasidh Krishna.
Harsh Dubey, the leading wicket-taker of the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season, has also earned a spot in the squad. Both fixtures will be played in Lucknow, with the first scheduled from September 16 to 19 and the second from September 23 to 26.

According to the BCCI’s media release, KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj will join the squad for the second match. The multi-day games will be followed by three one-day encounters between India A and Australia A, scheduled for September 30, October 3, and October 5 in Kanpur.
“KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj will be added to the squad for the 2nd multi-day match and will replace two players in the squad after the 1st multi-day match,” the release said.

Nitish Kumar Reddy was among the standout selections in the India A squad announced on Saturday, September 6. The all-rounder had earlier missed the fourth and fifth Tests against England due to a knee injury.
The squad also features N Jagadeesan, who impressed with a brilliant 197 in the ongoing Duleep Trophy semifinal against North Zone in Bengaluru. Jagadeesan had previously earned a call-up to the Indian team for the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval after Rishabh Pant was sidelined with an injury.
The pace attack for the two matches will be led by Khaleel Ahmed, Prasidh Krishna, Gurnoor Brar, and Yash Thakur, while the spin department will have options in Harsh Dubey, Manav Suthar, and Tanush Kotian to support captain Shreyas Iyer in the multi-day series.
