Indian bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar was awarded man of the match for his brilliant performance in 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka. The star CSK member snatched the victory away from the hands of team Sri Lanka. Chahar’s half-century and his partnership was the reason India was able to clinch the series victory in 2nd match. Former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra who was also part of Chennai Super Kings has lauded Deepak Chahar. Also, Ashish Nehra named Ms. Dhoni behind Chahar’s success as a finisher.

Deepak Chahar scored an unbeaten 69 off 82 deliveries and finished the match for India. At one stage it looked like India will fail to get over the line. However 84-run partnership for the eighth wicket between Chahar and Bhuvneshwar helped India win. Notably, Chahar came to bat in a very difficult situation when India was 160-6 with 116 runs needed for the win.

Ashish Nehra said Deepak has full capability of batting and he has shown this for CSK several times. Nehra stated that Chahar scored very crucial match-winning runs and bought India back in the game.

Ashish Nehra praised Deepak’s temperament while batting in tough situations. Nehra feels Chahar only attacked the loose balls and stayed focused throughout his innings.

Former Indian pacer highlighted that Deepak didn’t attack the loose balls delivered by Wanindu Hasaranga. Nehra felt that move by Deepak showed his match-winning mindset. He further praised Ms. Dhoni for passing on his experience to the youngsters of the team.

India faced batting collapse in second ODI against Sri Lanka

Deepak Chahar & Bhuvneshwar Kumar forged an 84-run partnership.

The India tour of Sri Lanka’s second ODI match at Colombo saw a batting collapse of the Indian team. Prithvi Shaw (13), Shikhar Dhawan (29), and Ishan Kishan (1)got out under the score of 65. Which created a very big problem for the Indian team. However, Suryakumar Yadav and Manish carried forward the innings for India.

Meanwhile, Manish Pandey (37) and Hardik Pandya (0) got out in the 18th over. Mumbai Indians mates Suryakumar Yadav (53) and Krunal Pandya (35) provided stability in the match. They fought very hard and kept the scoreboard moving but eventually, they got out.

However, With Deepak Chahar(69) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s (18) brilliance, India won the match by 3 wickets. Notably, In the match team, Sri Lanka performed way better than the first ODI game.
