Smriti Mandhana’s Wedding Put On Hold: Recent Changes On Social Media Accounts Sparks Online Frenzy

What had been billed as a marquee wedding — between cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music-composer Palash Muchhal — is now on hold amid abrupt medical emergencies. The ceremony, originally slated for November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, was called off when Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, fell severely ill on the morning of the wedding. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Sangli for treatment.

As worried family members gathered at the hospital, Muchhal too developed health issues — reportedly stress-related — and was admitted to hospital the next day. Given the gravity of the situation, the couple’s wedding manager officially announced that the wedding was postponed indefinitely until the families’ health concerns were resolved.

Social Media Changes Spark Speculation

Amid the fast-moving turn of events, social media reacted instantly. On one hand, Smriti removed all her pre-wedding and wedding-related posts — including engagement announcements and celebration photos — from her Instagram account. On the other hand, while some of their mutual friends and teammates also deleted or removed shared posts, the older casual pictures of Smriti with Palash remain visible.

To add to the intrigue, both Smriti and Palash reportedly updated their Instagram bios to include the “nazar” (evil-eye) emoji. This matching update triggered a flurry of social-media buzz — with many users speculating over what it might signal about their relationship status.

Despite the social-media chatter, representatives of both families have insisted the postponement purely stems from the health emergencies and have denied any underlying drama.

Hope for the Future — But No New Date Yet

As of now, both Smriti’s father and Palash have been discharged from hospital and appear to be recovering. However, neither the couple nor their families have announced a new wedding date — leaving thousands of fans and well-wishers waiting.

Family members have appealed for privacy out of respect for the sensitive situation. Palash’s sister, singer Palak Muchhal, posted publicly requesting that media and fans give the families space during this difficult time.

Until an official update arrives, the wedding remains postponed — leaving behind a swirl of concern, speculation, and hope for better days.
