The BCCI released the squads for the all-format Carribean tour couple of days ago. A lot of experts and analysts were seen appreciating the board for giving a chance to a lot of youngsters. The chief selector MSK Prasad also mentioned that this would be the proper time to groom a lot of young talents so as to reap rewards in the future. However, it seems that Sourav Ganguly isn”t much satisfied with the selections.
Sourav Ganguly seemed to be disappointed with the exclusion of young Indian talent Shubhman Gill for the series. It is to be noted that Gill was one of the finest performers for the India A side and ended up grabbing the Man of the Tournament award in the West Indies A series. He himself admitted that he was expecting to be in at least one of the squads in the senior team.
Time has come for indian selectors to pick same players in all formats of the game for rhythm and confidence.. too few are playing in all formats ..great teams had consistent players ..it’s not about making all happy but picking the best for the country and be consistent..@bcci

Sourav Ganguly also stressed the importance of Ajinkya Rahane in the team. He mentioned that there are very few players who show their class irrespective of the formats and Rahane is certainly one among them.
He also called for the inclusion of the same players across all the formats as it would help the side. He mentioned that the time has come to make such changes and great teams which were consistent, had such adaptive players.
There are many in the squad who can play all formats ..surprised not to see shubman gill ..Rahane in the one day squad..
