Sri Lanka vs India limited over series will finally kickstart on July 18 at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. The original schedule was tweaked after two members from the Sri Lankan camp tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.
Sri Lanka will be without the services of the senior-pro Kusal Perera, who suffered a shoulder injury and has been ruled out of the series. Under Kusal’s leadership, the Sri Lankan team lost the T20I and the ODI series against England, last month. He has been sacked as the Captain. Dasun Shanaka will lead the Sri Lankan squad against India.

The Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian team features quite a few new faces, such as the likes of Chetan Sakariya, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Devdutt Padikkal. This will be India’s last chance to experiment ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup, to be played later this year. Despite the inexperience in the side, the Indian team will start the series as hot favourites.
