Team Sri Lanka has suffered another blow as team’s analyst GT Niroshan has been found covid-19 positive. This is the second case found in the Sri Lankan team before the limited-overs series against India. Previously Sri Lanka’s batting coach Grant flower was tested Covid-19 positive.

 

After G.T Niroshan was found covid-19 positive the Sri Lankan management is providing him proper treatment.

 

“The Data Analyst of the Sri Lanka National Team, G.T. Niroshan, has tested positive for Covid 19,” “He was found to be positive, following a PCR Test carried out among the National Players, Coaches, and Support Staff yesterday, following the identification of Grant Flower as Covid Positive.”Niroshan is now undergoing due medical protocols.” -Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a statement.

 

Meanwhile on Thursday report came that the batting coach of Sri Lanka Grant flower was tested positive. It is a big concern for the team’s management as the batting coach got contracted a virus just 1 week before the series against India. However, Sri Lanka received good news after the entire squad was tested negative. Meanwhile, the players who have been tested negative still have to complete the mandatory quarantine of 7 days.

Sri Lanka cricket anxious after England players Tested positive

Previously Sri Lankan cricket (SLC) was anxious about the report about the PCR test of players. The reason behind this was Lankan players returned home after finishing the series against England. However, later it was found that 7 members of England cricket have been tested positive. There were three cricketers and four staff who were found Covid-19 positive.

England and Wales cricket board ( ECB) ordered all the cricketers to self isolate after they were found positive. Later ECB announced a brand new 18-member squad to face-off against Pakistan in the limited-overs series.

Meanwhile the Shikhar Dhawan led India is all set to face Sri Lanka in the limited overs series. The first match of series is scheduled on July 13 .
