Suresh Raina To Lead VVIP UP In Historic Indian Veteran Premier League

Appointed as the captain of VVIP Uttar Pradesh, Raina’s return to the field is eagerly anticipated by fans, especially as he prepares to once again sport the iconic yellow jersey, this time representing his home state. Affectionately known as “Chinna Thala” among CSK faithful, Raina is primed to lead VVIP Uttar Pradesh, showcasing not only his formidable batting skills but also his leadership acumen.

Suresh Raina said: “Hello everyone. I’m Suresh Raina and I’m super thrilled to be part of the Indian Veteran Premier League, I will be playing for Team VVIP Uttar Pradesh. This is the chance to play with veteran cricketers once again.”

Expressing his enthusiasm for the Indian Veteran Premier League, Raina conveyed his excitement, emphasizing his eagerness to participate in the tournament. Joining Raina in the VVIP Uttar Pradesh squad are former IPL champions Rajat Bhatia and Australian all-rounder Dan Christian, augmenting the team’s strength with their wealth of experience and talent.

With eyes set on making a resounding impact, VVIP Uttar Pradesh, along with other formidable teams like Rajasthan Legends, Red Carpet Delhi, Chhattisgarh Warriors, Telangana Tigers, and Mumbai Champions, is gearing up for a thrilling cricketing showdown during the tournament, slated to be held from February 23 to March 3, 2024, at the esteemed Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun.

Organized by the Board for Veteran Cricket in India (BVCI) and managed by 100 Sports, the IVPL has garnered significant attention by bringing together cricketing legends such as Virender Sehwag, Munaf Patel, Chris Gayle, and Herschelle Gibbs. Shri Praveen Tyagi, the Acting President of BVCI and Chairman of IVPL, expressed his anticipation for the event, noting the rejuvenating effect it will have on veteran cricket in India.
