Suryakumar Yadav rose to the top of the rankings in the latest ICC T20I ranking announced on Tuesday, November 2. He has shown tremendous consistency in the last few months with his explosive batting.
Since making his T20I debut in 2021 against England at Ahmedabad, Suryakumar Yadav has looked different batter altogether. Before going to the T20 World Cup 2022, he scored runs in the home T20I series against Australia and South Africa putting in match-winning performances and leading India to victories in both those competitive series.
He has shown tremendous consistency so far in the ongoing T20I World Cup. Surya Kumar scored a quickfire unbeaten 51 off 25 balls against the Netherlands and then played one of the best innings against a top-quality pace attack of South Africa including Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, Wayne Parnell, and Lungi Ngidi as the Indian team lost quick wickets early.
Suryakumar Yadav scored 68 off 40 balls and helped India post 133 for 9 in 20 overs after Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Deepak Hooda, and Hardik Pandya fell cheaply. It was a remarkable inning by Surya taking on South African bowling. Despite his efforts, the Indian lost the match by 5 wickets.

The experience Mumbai lad batter showed his varied range of shots in the match against Bangladesh. He showed his intent putting pressure on Bangladesh bowlers scoring a quickfire 30 off 16 balls before being bowled by Shakib AL Hasan.
