Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian squad for the Sri Lankan tour is currently staying at a hotel in Mumbai. Ahead of their departure, BCCI shared a video showcasing the preparation of ‘Mock Duck’. This dish is currently the hot favorite of the Indian team.
Since Virat Kohli’s men are away for a 5-match Test series against England, BCCI announced a 25 man squad for a white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. Experienced campaigners Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were appointed as the captain and vice-captain respectively.

The team will soon depart for Sri Lanka from the Mumbai airport. Prior to the tough task ahead, BCCI has tweeted a video to lighten the mood. Starring Shikhar Dhawan, the clip shows the procedure to make what has become the Indian team’s favorite dish – The ‘Mock Duck’.

The two-and-a-half-minute video captures the process of making the dish and is explained by Grand Hyatt’s chef Rakesh Kamble. The dish is generally considered to be a gluten-free meat substitute and is high in protein content. While detailing the procedure, Rakesh mentioned the cricketers who have developed a craving for the dish.
“This is Sanju Samson’s hot favorite. I asked Shikhar Dhawan to try it, and he loved it. The Pandya brothers usually order it once or twice at least in 3-4 days,” he said.
The Indian team will battle it out against the depleted Sri Lankan side in a white-ball series. It consists of 3 ODI’s starting on July 13, while the T20I’s start on July 21. Although the Men in Blue have an inexperienced side, they are the favorites going into the match-up.
