In a more recent interview, when the journalist got a chance to ask why there is not much more reported about women’s cricket in India, the Indian women’s cricket team captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, had a rather bitter response. To much buildup to the Women’s Asia Cup T20 2024 final against Pakistan, it is not my business, downplayed Harmanpreet Kaur.
India will play the first match of the Women’s Asia Cup T20 format in the year 2024 next Friday at the Dambulla ground against Pakistani experienced all-rounder Nida Dar. The Women in Blue have been placed along with the UAE, Pakistan, and Nepal, all in Group A. As much as the details of the team for next year’s cup are in the process of preparation, this year’s tournament is going to be in the T20 format.
The India women’s cricket team recorded its best performance in the Women’s Asia Cup, which has been won by this team three times. The following year, the Bangladeshi team managed to triumphantly hold the championship trophy in the version of 2018. Today’s blue shirt is all set and has triumphed in three out of the four T20 Asia cups and all four fifty-over cups.
Harmanpreet Kaur strikes back at a journalist during a news conference:

Reporters questioned Harmanpreet Kaur during the pre-tournament news conference. When India was on a recent visit to Bangladesh, a reporter wanted to know why she thought fewer journalists were present at press briefings. In response, Kaur said that it was the media’s job to cover the team, not hers.
“There have been concerns about the importance of women’s cricket, especially after the Bangladesh tour. Less journalists are appearing in press conferences, so what is your opinion on this?” One of the journalists asked her.
Harmanpreet was taken by surprise, but instead of losing her cool, she gave a befitting reply with a smile on her face. “Well, that is none of my business. You guys have to come and cover us,” Harmanpreet Kaur said.
