The wait for Ishan Kishan is finally over. Captain Rohit Sharma’s injury paved the way for the young left-handed batter to open alongside Shikhar Dhawan in the third ODI against Bangladesh. Dhawan was again dismissed cheaply but Kishan has gone beyond the 50 mark and is scoring above a run-a-ball.

Majority of the scoring is done by the left-handed batter in the team’s innings. At regular intervals, he is clearing the ball across the boundary ropes thereby creating constant pressure on the Bangladeshi bowlers.

He has brought up his maiden century with a boundary. He was deprived of it against South Africa but not anymore. He has been playing with an aggressive right from the get-go putting the hosts under pressure. He reaches the milestone with a sweep and yells the words come on.

Let’s look at some Twitter reactions to this maiden century scored by the Jharkhand batter:

India in line for a big score in the 3rd ODI vs Bangladesh

The partnership between Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan has crossed the 150-run landmark. India are scoring at almost a run-a-ball. Kohli has scored yet another half-century. If any of these batters stay till the end then we are in for a huge total being posted by the men in blue for the hosts to chase.

Kishan has converted his maiden century into a 150+ score. He took just 18 balls to reach his 150 from 100. His strike rate is now approaching 150.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field. India had t make forced changes in the form of Rohit Sharma and Deepak Chahar who were replaced by Ishan Kishan and Kuldeep Yadav, respectively.

India have already lost this series but will be looking to utilise this game as a build-up for the World Cup next year in order to get their combinations and playing XI right.
