1214 days the time it took King Kohli aka Virat Kohli to score a century in the format in which he dominates, ODI’s. This was his 72nd international century and has surpassed Former Australian Captain Ricky Ponting who has 71 centuries. He scored 113 runs in 91 balls until he was dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan caught by Mehedi Hasan.

His knock compromised 11 fours and two maximums. His innings didn’t go under the radar even though he was a spectator to a double century scored by Ishan Kishan. Kohli’s last ODI century came against West Indies in 2019 after the World Cup. There was a gap of more than two and a half years between the 70th and 71st centuries. He brought up his century with a maximum.

After reaching this landmark Virat Kohli was heard saying the words, “three fu****ng years boys.” Here’s the video shared by Sony Sports Network of Kohli’s celebration after crossing 100.

Team India post a massive total in their allotted overs

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field first and they would have soon regretted this decision as Ishan Kishan came pouring on them and smashed all their bowlers across the rope in all parts of the ground.

After the dismissal of both Virat Kohli and Kishan the scoring rate had fallen down but a cameo from Washington Sundar scoring 37 runs off 27 balls helped India cross the landmark of 400 runs and ended up with a score of 409-8 at the end of their innings.

Apart from Shakib Al Hasan, no one seemed to have played fluently with intent. The Indian bowlers were picking up wickets at regular intervals to keep the hosts Bangladesh on the back foot throughout the chase. Even though India has lost this series this game will give them a few positives to build upon.
