Team India have lost the three-match ODI series to Bangladesh where they will play the dead rubber on Saturday. With three players injured Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Sen and Deepak Chahar, the BCCI has added veteran spinner Kuldeep Yadav to the squad hoping to end the series on a high note. However, alongside Kuldeep, the spin responsibilities will be on Washington Sundar also as he bowled brilliantly in the second ODI to finish with figures of 3/37 as well.

Meanwhile, Washington Sundar has done well with the bat as well. And, the head coach Rahul Dravid was seen giving some batting advice in the nets ahead of the final ODI as well. Notably, he has scored 51 and an unbeaten 37 in the first and third ODIs against New Zealand as well.

However, in a video shared by the BCCI, Washington Sundar was seen listening to Rahul Dravid carefully as the India head coach switched his style and turned left-hander and guided him. The video also showed Sundar playing a punch off the back foot on the leg side, but maybe Dravid felt that there is room for improvement as well. And, switching his style, Dravid showed him a better way to play some of the shots as well.

Meanwhile, in the pre-match press conference ahead of the final ODI of the series, Washington Sundar opined on multiple topics related to the Indian team’s performance, as well as his own performances also. While a reporter asked the question about India’s series loss against Bangladesh, referring it to ‘very unusual’ and further asking about the “situation in the dressing room” after the defeat, to which Sundar had a brilliant response.

“Every game is an opportunity to keep getting better and get the right rhythm and perform well as a team. There’s not going to be many games, so every game is very important for us. We are going to play good brand of cricket, we are going to keep improving no matter who we play. Our job is to play to our potential and to keep getting better wherever we have to. That’s the mindset we are in, and we keep looking at improving, wherever that might be,” Washington Sundar stated.
